The journey of this game, it can be painstakingly brutal, yet in the face of adversity, so beautiful. And that’s exactly what these girls have weathered. It’s early in the year, but it’s been one that has required pivot after pivot, a fair representation of the life to come. For these 9 year olds, they have risen to the occasion, chosen to still show up for themselves, and ultimately each other. Thank you to the family’s that continue to believe in this journey and the greater good of supporting girls in all things sport.
What if I told you these girls didn’t just show up on a Sunday and decide to compete in the boys division 3 months ago. What if I said it took many conversations, a few naysayers and ultimately an opportunity to be tested. And what if I told you it was worth it… and that they’d do it all over again.
These girls have been training 4-5 days a week, for the last three years to experience this kind of joy in their journey. They entered two divisions this fall, earning a semifinal finish in the U12 girls division, and proudly going undefeated in the U10 boys division… doing something that’s never been done on Kaua’i, winning the girls U10 season in the Spring and then winning the Boys U10 division in the Fall. While immense and definitely historical, still just a stepping stone of what’s to come. Stay tuned, playing like a girl wins championships too.
Thank you families, Thank you @kauairush , but mostly thank you to our coaches. It is your consistency and steadfast knowledge that provides the opportunity.
“Every team, player and coach wants to win, but it’s the teams that honor what goes into winning and work at those things every day that will find success.”

“You were born to be a player. You were meant to be here. This moment is yours.”
These 8 girls made a commitment, persevered through fatigue, played with only 1 sub, and dug deep to find the fuel for mental and physical toughness on at times, an empty tank. They battled in 4 tough games, one of which in the championship, resulted with a double OT and PKs. Each of these 8 girls immensely stepped up, and played with passion and determination and left it all on that field as a team, and was not going to allow anyone to stop them from bringing home the number one trophy back to Kaua’i.

Anytime you arrive in Southern California for Surf Cup Sports Event you can expect top tier competition… and that’s exactly what we found. We came to show our strengths and to expose our opportunities for growth, and surely we accomplished that. This little team, from the most isolated island archipelago in all the world, showed up, persevered, trusted their training and put their names on the Map in SoCal. We can’t wait to do it again β½οΈπ₯

“Though they be but little, they are fierce”. Introducing our Kaua’i U10 WΔhine Champions!!!
.
What a historical season it was. Three trophy’s, three different islands, twice playing up in age, all done in five months time. And while this moment captures the glory, the joy, and the sweet emotion of victory, what it doesn’t illustrate is the how… how they arrived at this moment. For every scrimmage against Kaua’i’s best teams, the logged hours of 4-5 trainings a week, the individual goals met, the many fundraising initiatives tackled, and probably the most impactful, the many ‘Ohana’s behind every single one of these players, and we’re talking generational kΕkua, all the aunty’s uncles and Grandparents. All that being said, none of this could be accomplished without the vision, top notch coaching and leadership of our two coaches Nash and Dustin.
.
Here we believe when you Champion one another, Championships can be achieved, and you did it girls, Congratulations! @kauairush @hawaii_rush @hawaii_rush_bigisland @rushsoccer @rushmauiofficial

Happy New Year! Thank you to our parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles, and coaches who’ve given us the most amazing opportunities without your support, this past year would not have been possible. We’ve grown from teammates to family. This team is so special and we can’t wait to see what 2023 has in store for us. Thank you for following along in our journey. π€π #letsgorush #ruid
Despite @kauairush14_15g falling short in a
1-0 loss in the championship game this trip was a
overall success! I could not be more proud of what
these girls accomplished in this tournament. The
amount of work these girls put in the past 9 months
definitely showed on the field as they exceeded
anything I could have asked for going 4-0 in pool play
in the Super division, battling against Washington's top
teams while only allowing a total of 2 goals in 5 games.
I am excited to see what the future has in store for
these girls as I know this is just the beginning. Thank
you to all the coaches and players that helped us
prepare for this tournament. Thank you parents for your
year round commitment to this team and a thank you all
who donated including @tahitinuihanalei
